Barricade Situation: Shots Fired At Active Scene In Philadelphia

A gunman barricaded in a Philadelphia home brought a large police presence to the scene Monday, July 10, city police told Daily Voice on Monday morning.

Officers were called to the 4500 block of Bleigh Avenue in Mayfair just before 11 a.m. the department said. Reports indicated a suspect was firing a gun from inside a home, police wrote.

Responding officers found bullet "casings on the premises" and declared a barricade at 11:18 a.m., authorities said.

Footage from the scene posted to the Citizen App showed officers in tactical gear armed with long guns and a police helicopter circling overhead.
